The aroma of roasted chestnuts fill the air, along with cries of street vendors hawking their wares and lamp-lit streets filled with Christmas treasures.. It’s the one & only Victorian Christmas.

Welcome the holiday season in Nevada City. It’s a magical setting of hilly streets with authentic gas lamps, wandering carolers dressed in Victorian attire, and visitors sharing holiday cheer and good tidings.

This annual family tradition has been held since 1978 and takes place two Wednesday evenings and three Sunday afternoons in December. There are holiday activities for all ages including live entertainment, yuletide treats and libations, and Father Christmas!

Stroll the beautifully decorated streets, savor hot cider, and revel in the joyful sights and sounds of the holidays — all while honoring the Cornish heritage that helped shape our town during the Gold Rush era.

Artists Sunday is a nationwide art-shopping event taking place with professional artists, non-profit art organizations and municipalities across the country. Soroptimist of Truckee Donner is continuing our tradition of hosting our Soroptishop Holiday Artisan Faire. Start your shopping early for local artwork, jewelry, pottery, clothes, cosmetics, herbals, handcrafts, hand blown glass and much more! Over 50 local and small business artisans participating.

Shoppers pay just $18 to attend and will receive a glass of Truckee River wine to enjoy while shopping. All ticket sales to benefit our local community through Soroptimist of Truckee Donner!

For the last 30 years, the Eastlake High School PTSA has organized a Holiday Bazaar: a collection of over 100 local vendors who set-up booths in the Eastlake hallways and sell their hand-made products… beautiful jewelry, carved wood items, hand-made clothing, toys, holiday décor, and more! During the Bazaar we also hold a Bake Sale and raffle off over 100 prizes. Our local community looks forward to this event every year. All money raised by the Bazaar goes to the Eastlake PTSA.
