SOY WAX! Renewable, Clean Burning and Beautiful

We LOVE Soy!  Our paraben-free and phthalate-free soy wax candles are hand-poured using only the finest ingredients. We use all-natural, renewable, sustainable soy wax made from American grown soybeans to ensure our candles are eco-friendly and clean burning.

Soy wax is known for its beautiful, smooth creamy appearance as well as its ability to hold, and throw, a lot of fragrance.  We use premium fragrances and high-quality essential oils to create our custom scents. We have found that soy wax allows for our subtle, unique scents to be enjoyed when the candle is cool and when it is burning.

Soy candles are vegan! Soy wax is vegetable, plant-based wax on not derived from animals. Soy wax is made from the oil of soybeans. The process of creating soy wax is quite complex - after harvesting, the soybeans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.

We love that purchasing soy candles supports the US economy. Because the main component of producing soy candles are soybeans, and soybeans are grown in the US!  The U.S. grows the vast majority of the world's soybeans, primarily in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana.

Soy wax is completely renewable, biodegradable and sustainable. Our Soy wax candles are eco-friendly and carbon-neutral.  In addition to sustainability, our soy candles will burn cleanly meaning that the soy wax does not emit any petro-carbon soot or harmful or toxic gases when they burn.

Soy wax burns cooler, which makes our candles last 30-50% longer than candles made from other types of wax.  Soy wax burns slowly which helps the candles last longer and emit scent better.  Yea for SOY!

Here are some helpful tips for soy-wax candle care:

  • Burn candle on a heat resistant, flat surface and away from flammable items - do not leave lit candle unattended

  • Burn your candle for at least two hours the first time as soy wax has memory.  Please try to allow the melted wax pool to get as close to the edge of the vessel as possible on that first burn to prevent future “tunneling”

  • Before relighting, trim wick 1/4" for a cleaner, smoke-free burn

  • Stop burning when only 1/4” of wax remains - please use caution collecting the gemstones from the bottom of the container as the melted soy wax is very hot

  • Please repurpose your containers when you are done enjoying your candle
